Ali Imran Raja practiced law for ten years in Pakistan where he prosecuted and defended criminal cases. Ali got his Bachelors Degrees in Commerce and LLB from the University of Peshawar, NWFP, Pakistan. Before passing the bar in Nova Scotia in December 2010, Ali was a research analyst with MacGillivray Law for three years.
Ali took part in demonstrations by lawyers following the arrest and imprisonment of a Supreme Court Judge whose rulings disagreed with the ruling party leadership. Ali risked life and liberty protesting for the independence of the Courts from the political leaders. Ali believes that everybody should have to answer to the law, including the rich and the powerful, and that all people are deserving of equal concern and respect before the law. His background and belief system support the mission of our office, and we are lucky to have him.
